Newspaper Article Published!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Heeey everybody!  I asked you in an earlier blog post to please be praying for a newspaper article which I’d be interviewed for.  This was for the West Lane News, a newspaper based out of Veneta, Oregon.  They were doing a feature story on Incubator, and yours truly was one of the artists interviewed and chosen to take part in this article to support my record label and management company. It came out January 1st of this year, though I just received my ‘official’ copy of it in the mail and wanted to share it with you!  If you’d enjoy learning more about Nate (Incubator’s president), Tami (my manager) and Incubator on a whole, in this article entitled “Music producers hatch their own plan for success” by David Baugher, leave a comment after this post and I’ll email it to ya. (Here are two article photos: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6246896&l=0cb7f47ba4&id=668255034 and http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6246897&l=f89c0a33c9&id=668255034.)  Incubator has definitely have been a God sent in this chickadee’s life! I am extremely thankful.

Opening Up for Decyfer Down …on the Skillet Stage!

Monday, April 6th, 2009

6Yeah, that’s me on stage with my hubby at the Skillet concert last night! Travis was the Emcee for the event, and though I came out with him to model the fancy guitar signed by Skillet to be given away at the end of the night, when Travis handed me that awesome mic, I just had to say something …so technically I opened up for the first band, Decyfer Down, right?!! He he. Seriously though, it was an amazing evening, through and through. Generation Exodus (www.genexconcerts.com) and The Westmoreland County Youth Network (www.teensforchrist.org) sponsored this event and it was one amazing evening of ministry to the 1400 people in attendance. I just love how my hubby and I can do ministry together; it doesn’t always look the same, yet it’s always something special …if we allow it! Thanks to all of you who were there, prayed for this event, and pray for us on a consistent basis. God’s working because of you! Now go enjoy these fun pictures I posted on Facebook from this event too: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=240594&id=668255034&l=069b1c4dfc

A Leap of Faith?

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

n668255034_6368045_69581211Have you ever been in a situation where you know that you know that you know God wants you to do something, and yet just about every circumstance surrounding you indicates otherwise? Have you ever really felt your ‘faith’ being put into action in a way sooooo beyond yourself? This past month I sure have! I’m in this stretching season of songwriting, and in order to get these song recorded, I’ve needed to purchase a computer compatible with my recording software and external hard drive. Can I tell you, that hasn’t been the easiest of tasks?!! From right and left there have been distractions and complications in doing just that. But as my sweet hubby has helped me, we’ve wrestled through this with only a few battle wounds at that. One of those ‘wounds’ -I thought -was the fat credit card bill for the computer’s expense. Now, Miss Frugal here doesn’t typically put something on a credit card unless I’ve got the cash in hand or know that I’ll be getting it in time to pay off the bill. This was a leap of faith for me. And the songs I’ve been working on have stretched me in my faith too, as I’m concentrating on making them focused for not only adults, but teenager audiences alike. Wide leap, right? Well, I have to testify to God’s goodness and faithfulness here! At one of the tiniest churches I’ve given this ministry concert, I ended up receiving the largest love offering to date …enough to pay for all but $300 of my computer expenses! THEN, the following week a dear friend and Vision Team Member blessed me with a $300 ministry gift to use for whatever! And if that wasn’t enough, my concert the following weekend was for an audience full of teenagers, and in all my feelings of inadequacy, the Lord decided to show up powerfully and so many responded that God had touched them and wanted prayer that I couldn’t count all the hands raised indicating so …nor was I prepared for practically being dog piled afterwards by the teens themselves! Isn’t that so like God? I mean, He puts us in situations where it’s totally impossible to accomplish His plan and purpose until we put our complete faith and trust in Him. And then when He accomplishes HIS perfect plan, He ends up providing perfectly, and (like that’s not enough!) even blessing us above all we could have imagined! What place does God have you in currently? Where do you have to take that leap of faith …and trust? Do it! You won’t be disappointed.
