go to http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=274524&id=668255034&l=7f7085c757 to see more pics! There is no one like our God …a line sung in the Irish worship band Bluetree’s song “God of this City”.  Travis and I made the treck to see Bluetree in concert last night.  It was an amazing time of worship, and a great reminder of how great our God is and how He is still the God of this city and nation …no matter how grim things may tend to look.  Check out the widget at my facebook page: www.facebook.com/judydeans to hear the story behind the song, watch an acoustic video of this song, and pray that God’ll use you in your city. And here’s a link to some pics from last night’s concert: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=274524&id=668255034&l=7f7085c757

Is music really needed in this time of economic difficulty?

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Times are tough.  To buy even our basic necessities, isn’t quite like it used to be.  Keeping on musically can be tough too.  Yet, in this particular season, I continue to be stretched and write music, convinced that this calling God’s placed on my life is powerful and needed, and though I don’t see all the implications of that in the day to day, I know He’s placed me here for something grander.  Here’s couple Christianity Today articles my hubby forwarded me that I wanted to share with you too:

Is your view of God twisted? Are you laughing at Him?

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Is your view of God twisted?
We were in tornado weather last night.  The sky was pitch black, balls of hail were shooting down from the sky, and the lights kept flickering.  During those moments, I was trying to make the atmosphere a bit lighter while editing this picture. It sure was a crazy situation to be in!  But now that I come to think of it, how twisted are our thoughts and hearts, when it comes to God?  Think about it for a minute.  Who is God, and how do you show him adoration, praise and respect in your every day life, especially those whom He’s given you in relationships?  My hubby forwarded me this music video in which the artist asks a very pertinent question …”Are you laughing at God?”  You know, God shows up in our lives, crying out to us to live a life of integrity and holiness …a life above reproach, as the Bible puts it.  Are you living that way?  Or are you ignoring His subtle and not so subtle warnings …are you one of the folks who laugh at God.  If so, why don’t you ask God to untwist your thoughts and heart.  Ask Him to take His rightful place in your every day.  Here’s the video …check it out:

Fun Times …and even with COFFEE too!

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeYes, every now and then you can find me with a frappuccino of sorts (the one pictured here was  a Banana Anna -chocolate and banana- from Gloria Jean’s …mmmmmmmmmmm); especially when I’m having fun with a friend while reprieving from the busy work load and demands of the busy schedule.  After this past week’s ministry endeavors and ‘behind the scenes’ work, it was one of those coffee moments, for sure!  After singing and playing for my dear Ministry Team Member’s wedding (click here to see some sweet pictures I posted on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=269787&id=668255034&l=53a1a36db4)  I hit the town for some R&R with another dear Ministry Team member friend, Allison, who treated me to a show at the Benidum Center and some enjoyable girl time at that.  Here are some pics from our Pittsburgh adventures too: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=270437&id=668255034&l=8e4bdb9d16.

with Ministry Team Member GwenSo why do I write this to you today?  God’s created us for such great things; great things we need to work diligently at, and relationships we need to be diligent about.  How are you doing with that work and rest balance?  Are you working hard at what God’s created you for and working hard at prioritizing the relationships He’s given you?  And are you taking that time to rest and allowing God to rejuvenate ya too?  Just a bit I wanted to share today!

I really am singing!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Hey everybody! Thanks so much for praying for me this past weekend! I had a nasty infection which resulted in me losing my voice, but God was sooooooooo in control and heard your prayers immensely, as I was singing the song “I’m Singing” (see previous blog!) and leading worship that Saturday and Sunday with the worship team at my church. It was like God was just waiting to hear His children pray and for me to trust that He’d show up. And you know what? HE DID! It’s not typical that I lose my voice, but I’m convinced this was just one of those ways the enemy tried to stop God’s praises from being heard/sung, yet a way God used what was meant for evil to be GOOD and remind us all of HIS presence and HIS ability to supercede what seems to be weighing us down and preventing us to live fully alive. So thanks to all of you who have cared so much as to pray. He heard ya, and I’m so thankful! I love you guys!

I’m Singing – Kari Jobe

No matter what’s going on in your life, no matter what ‘hurdles’ the enemy is throwing at you, you still can choose to sing because of WHO God is and WHAT He has done for you …yes YOU!  Choose to be singing, eh?
